Jena 6 – Obvious racism in Louisiana

All white jury sitting before white judge agrees with white prosecutor and all white witnesses and convicts black youth in racially charged high school criminal case.

An article in the Chicago Sun-Times sums it up nicely: Did Civil Rights movement pass Louisiana by?

More details…

This is so messed up…black students getting set to jail for decades and white students getting a warning? The good news is that, for the fellow who was convicted already and the ones that may be convicted, it’s easy to appeal a verdict given out by an all-white jury.

Even now, students still at the school have been banned from wearing shirts that say “Free the Jena 6.”

It such a clear case of rampant racism, I can’t believe anyone could look at this situation and not see that.
