How is this for odd things…I just mentioned my journey to buying a Sega Genesis. Well, there was a story just posted on Slashdot about the Möbius Strip and then I was reading the Wikipedia article about them, only to find a reference to Sonic the Hedgehog there.

How weird is that?

Sometimes I just get weird urges. I was playing Free Sonic and was thinking back to when it used to be a special treat to rent a Sega from the video store, usually with the Sonic the Hedgehog and X-Men. Suddenly I felt very nostalgic. Growing up, I had an Atari 2600 way after they were cool. The next console we got was a Super Nintendo, well after the first Playstation was out. Then it started accelerating…we got an N64 and had that for a while, then moved on the get a Playstation 2 sometime around 2001. That’s where it stopped, though. My parents actually gave away our PS2 after I left for college, though I ended up buying another one a couple years ago.

Anyhow, the point is that I bought a Sega off of eBay yesterday that comes with Sonic 1, 2, and 3, so, assuming it actually gets here, I will be effectively moving backwards in time…
